Things that are at rest tend to stay at rest, and things that are in motion tend to stay in motion, which is why it's so hard to get up out of bed in the morning, and so hard to fall asleep at night, for me anyway. The point is, that change is hard, getting started is even harder. I know because it took me two years to.

Why did I start? Well first off, because i gave my freedom away unknowingly for the guts of about 9 months, and when i realized this I was brought back to my power and happiness. I value freedom above everything else. Why should I let others dictate how I should or shouldn't live my life? I started making excuses but every excuse I came up with my immediate response was "So fucking what?

So these are things I did to motivate myself, inspire myself and to finally begin doing what I have been wanting to do for soooo long:

  • I started a Bullet Journal. I have been doing this since the start of this year and it really helps keep me on track. I record my moods, my tasks, my goals, my habits and a short log of every day. This is what April looks like so far:I write a really short summary of my day, I have my goals of the month on the side, and I have upcoming events labelled too.
The blue tracks how I feel about that aspect of my life from 0 to 100% at the start of the month. I do the same at the end of the month in pink.
I have my Goals separated into different topics. My Happiness Jar encourages me to find something good in every day. It has really helped me to have a more positive outlook on life.
The flowers track my crazy mood swings, while the sleep log tracks my sleeping patterns. This helps to see whether I'm tired cause I haven't slept or because I haven't drank water or eaten properly.
This is where I record my day, my habits, the song that I'm currently obsessed with or means something to me that day, things I've accomplished and things I'm grateful for. This is what keeps me focused.

  • I found a few role models. This is so important. You need someone that inspires you, motivates you, does what you want to do and can be your guide. After you watch them, read about them, listen to them ect you should feel like jumping up and doing the same. After I watched my role model's videos for about 2 hours, I jumped up from the couch and I thought to myself "Alright my turn now" and I went off and I did the things that I needed to do.
  • I wrote down my Vision Statement. I wrote down exactly what I want, how i want it, why I want it, and what I need to do in order to get it.  Be very specific.
  • I plastered reminders on my door, and above my desk, so that whenever I sat down to work or walked out my door I would stay focused on how I'm going to live that day.
  • Get out of the house more often. I went on walks at least once every two days, just to clear my head, listen to some music and breathe in some fresh air.
  • Forgiveness and Pride. I forgave myself for every wrong decision, every embarrassing moment, every stupid action and started becoming proud of everything I have done so far. It really frees up your consciousness. These things make you the person that you are now.
  • Plan Your Day. The way I plan my day is 3 goals for business/ work/ purpose, one for health, one for exercise, one for recreation and one for family/friends/lover ect.. Don't make a long list of things you have to do. It'll make you feel unproductive and will discourage you, if you only cross one thing off a very long list. Take it one step at a time.
  • Listen to Music that gets you pumped. If you're happy and excited you'll most likely do what you need to do faster and you'll get through it easier. I have no idea where I'd be without music... Probably at a Therapist.

And to finish on that note, I was going through some of my old videos and found a song with such powerful lyrics. Now it may be from Disney Channel, and from one of my favorite movies as a kid (Radio Rebel) but Disney has got some good songwriters for sure.

Enjoy the Journey, It's more important than the destination.
